For the first four plus years everything I did was just straight up
Walkthrough's. Also, I was heavily involved with a Gaming website for
the majority of those first four years. I met many people and made many
friends. Most important of all my Girlfriend. To have that endeavor come
to the abrupt disappointing and disgusting end that it was is a shame.
It also hurt us. (My friends and I) Some more than others as our
commitment to it lessened our commitment to our youtube channels for a
long while. There's one important constant that needs to always be
remembered. The fact that there are incompetent, unethical, dishonest,
distrustful and disloyal snakes out there who take advantage and sponge
off of people's hard work. They are incapable of having any sort of
people skills which will undoubtedly cause trouble in any type of
business venture. This is a fact that applies to everything in life.
Despite all the bad I wouldn't have changed any of my decision's in the
past four years. More good gained than left bad. No doubt!
The past several months I've begun to change. Not the way I do
walkthrough's. Although my equipment and quality has come a long way...
The type of content I put up. I like to post vids about my other
interests now. I'm not too sure why I never mainstreamed myself more or
put my face out there before now but I'm enjoying it and I have a lot of
ideas I'd like to explore. I'd certainly like to do more and more
camera type projects in near future.
Like it or not, the video game walkthrough scene has become a form of
business for people and it's caused many to have to change or rethink
the way they put out videos and content. Partnerships are handed out
like candy and the Youtube gaming community has become saturated with
too much content and competition. That's just the way it is. That's the
way it's going to be for for awhile. You never know what changes could
happen in the future though. If things change for the worse a lot of the
same people wouldn't be putting out content at all.
Many people just have a passion for games and making videos to inform
and entertain. People who have been doing it for a short or long time.
There are a lot of other people who enjoy playing games and like making
gaming videos sure. Problem is they don't really care as it's played in
an uncaring manner and a lot of content is put out quickly because it's
good for their own business. Fair game? It's all about new releases and
no one will deny wanting to get a game out before anyone else.
Some people care, some people don't. Some people race, some go at their
own pace. I fall somewhere in the middle. Also, I of course believe
everyone has the right to upload videos onto youtube in whatever
category they fall. In the end I am having fun and excited with the
direction I'm taking my channel. I've been doing this for almost five
years and these last few months have had the most changes for me so far.
So the future of DavetheUsher is looking good and I'll always love my
fanbase.
Yeah I know. Went on a rant or two again.
